Porter

Performs custodial duties at facilities operated by State Agencies, pursuant with NYSID contracts, in an indoor setting, or as assigned by the supervisor.

Performs assigned cleaning tasks at site. Assists in putting supplies and equipment back in proper location. Notifies supervisor of problems/difficulties in performing job duties. Notifies supervisor if equipment is not working properly. Performs additional duties as requested by supervisor.

Primary duties and responsibilities unclude but not limited to:

• Performs assigned tasks at cleaning sites including, but not limited to, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning bathrooms, dusting, and garbage removal.
• Wiping down desks, tables, surfaces.
• Cleaning windows & windowsills.
• Assists in moving supplies and equipment as needed.
• Notifies supervisor of problems/difficulties in performing job duties.
• Notifies supervisor if equipment is not working properly.
• Performs additional duties as requested by supervisor.

• Ability to perform medium to heavy manual labor.
• Ability to understand instructions given by the supervisor. 
• Flexible and able to accept changes in job duties. 
• Has some training in commercial cleaning, including, but not limited to, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning bathrooms, dusting, and garbage removal.
