Overview

The HR Compliance Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day administration of all functions related to processing Justice Center and OPWDD background checks. 

 

The position involves high level of data processing and interaction with new hires.

 

The position is also responsible for tracking the driver status for all employees using the LENS Department of Motor Vehicle system, serving as a liaison for communicating information across the agency.

 

The position will occasionally assist with live-scan fingerprinting internal job candidates and external customers.

Responsibilities

Primary duties and responsibilities iunclude but not limited to: 

  • Responsible for reviewing employment applications and assisting new hires with completing background checks forms.
  • Process all OPWDD background checks including SEL, CBC, SCR, and MHL requests.
  • Arrange finger printing appointments through an online scheduling system.
  • Process education/licensure verifications for prospective and existing employees, update spreadsheets, HRIS and upload pdfs accordingly.
  • Review and determine status of all agency drivers in accordance with agency’s driver policy.
  • Perform updates to HRIS (UKG) and LENS DMV system to reflect accurate driver status.
  • Send professional email communications regarding driver status updates to applicable agency programs and track responses accordingly.
  • Will be trained to operate live-scan fingerprint equipment for identification, criminal history, and job application purposes in a faced paced environment.
  • Issue and terminate gas pins using WEX system for agency drivers.
  • Maintain, file, and scan all documentation to employee files.
  • May function as liaison between employee, program, and executive officers providing safety assessment updates for any background check concerns
  • May assist with credentialing of clinical providers and manage digital and paper documentation.

 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in applicable area preferred.
  • Must be organized and detail oriented with ability to analyze and assess information while working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Outlook
  • Must possess and demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must possess strong attention to detail and proven organizational abilities in a fast-paced environment.
