Primary duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Provides medical oversight and medical assessment of all people that attend the Day Habilitation to ensure their safety and well- being.
- Provide continuous training and support to the staff in order for them to efficiently meet each person’s medical needs.
- Administer first aid as needed or instruct staff on necessary medical interventions.
- Reviews all medical records and paperwork, including annual physicals and medical visit appointments, on a regular basis and following doctor’s orders as prescribed.
- Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure all medical concerns are addressed.
- Acts as a liaison with the family, residences and MD to coordinate care.
- Ensure that all medical documentation is comprehensive and conforms with agency policies and procedures and is maintained in the person’s medical chart.
- Provide supervision to the LPN, and will be available to the LPN for any medical assessment or medical concern.
- Ensure implementation of all new medical policies and procedures by training staff and observation of practices.
- Ensure that work-related safety procedures are in place and are being adhered to by staff. Observance of an unsafe or a potentially hazardous work environment must be immediately reported to supervisor.
- Performs additional related duties as requested by her supervisor.
Physical aspects may include but not limited to lifting and transferring of an adult/child.
