Assistant Director Of Facilities Management

To oversee preventive maintenance and repair of agency buildings, equipment, and grounds at the all residence, ICF, Vocational Centers, and satellite locations. Acts as agency General Contractor as required.

Primary duties and responsibilities include but not limited to: Assist the Director of Facilities in the supervision of staff and the planning, organization, and scheduling of work Monitors projects to assure completion of assignments, and quality of work Oversees maintenance projects and the daily operations of the physical plant including managing budgets and subcontractors Responds to major repair and maintenance requests from program directors by investigating the situation, determining course of action, and taking necessary action to resolve the issue. May also be required to respond to emergencies requiring immediate attention and assist with after hours and weekend emergency calls involving facility issues Ensures safety of buildings and grounds by inspecting them for potential hazards, clearing walkways and roads, and ensuring code compliance requirements (e.g. building codes, asbestos regulations, etc.) are met Oversees department purchasing process by comparing vendor bids and reviewing purchase orders, to ensure department is adequately equipped at moderate expens Ensures that work-related procedures are in place and are being adhered to by staff. Counsels staff as appropriate when unsafe acts or potentially hazardous work practices are being performed, and notifies Agency Safety Committee of corrective action taken Work with the Emaint work order data base on a daily basis to monitor maintenance requests for all residences and facilities to ensure timely and appropriate resolutions Assists in the development and implementation of maintenance policies, procedures and best practices Performs all other related duties as requested by Director of Facilities and Maintenance Operation Physical Aspects may include but are not limited to lifting up to 50lbs.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent required College Degree preferred with five (5) years experience as a manager/supervisor, or lead maintenance technician.
• Seven (7) years total relevant experience
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite
• Qualified NYS driver license required and maintained throughout employment
