Assists in the food preparation for the Freeport Vocational Center and Meals on Wheels program.
Responsibilities
Primary duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:
Assists Food Services Supervisor in preparing food, cooking, heating, mixing, slicing, etc. to ensure food is properly prepared and available for participants and staff
Assists in the preparation and set up for Meals on Wheels ensuring that quality and quantity guidelines are followed
Complete kitchen clean up tasks and prepare food for storage following appropriate food handling procedures
When requested assists in completing inventories in store room and storage area by physically counting materials to insure all items are accounted for as well as to ensure sufficient food supply for next day
Performs other duties as requested by supervisor and/or administration.
Qualifications
High School diploma or Equivalent required.
Qualified NYS Driver’s License required.
Food service experience preferred.
Must have the ability to complete basic math skills, such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
