Overview

The DSP Pathways Project Coordinator will be responsible for designing a talent pipeline between local high schools, BOCES students and college students. The DSP Pathways Project Coordinator will ensure program quality and performance related to recruiting, screening, matching, monitoring and closing the relationship with the mentor and mentee.

Responsibilities

Primary duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:

 

  • Oversees implementation of an ongoing mentor plan including the development of annual recruitment and quarterly activity plans, development and distribution of program marketing materials, presentations to targeted organizations and ensuring a presence at key community events
  • Provide work-based learning opportunities to strengthen students hands on experience
  • Implements mentor supports for students with learning about direct support

 

 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Bachelors preferred.
  • Knowledge of the NYS service system for people with developmental and other disabilities strongly preferred
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective, engaging relationships with students who will be excited to transition to employees of AHRC Nassau and Citizens
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and reporting skills to manage multiple projects, set priorities, collaborate with team members, and meet deadlines.
  • Responsible and professional conduct that serves as a role model for students
  • Exceptional interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required. 
  • Computer proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite applications.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • This is a temporary grant funded part-time position up to 20hrs per week.. This position will end in June 2026

Travel

  •  Up to 30 percent travel is required to visit schools and work based learning sites in day hab and residential. Attendance in field related meetings required.
